MasterCard/Diners Club
Alliance
Recently, MasterCard and
Diners Club have entered into an
alliance
that requires a new set of rules for accepting Diners Club cards
issued inside and outside of US.
-
Diners Club Cards which are issued in North
America, have a 16-digit account number and a BIN
beginning with "5" can be accepted and processed just
like any MasterCard credit card transaction. There
is no need to do anything here.
-
The new requirement is
to accept Diners Club Cards which are issued outside
of the U.S. and have a 14-digit
account number, and a BIN beginning with "36"
just like any MasterCard credit transaction.
Warning: Failure to comply with
these new regulations may result in
substantial fines!
How to Setup CreditLine To Be Compliant?
Your setup (c:\911\data\ccv_info.dat file) contains individual card acceptance rules. If you are
using an older setup (even if you are using it with the latest
release of software) it will reflect the older Master Card/Diners
Club rules. To comply with the new regulations please follow
the following procedure:
1) Open CreditLine Manager
2) Click Configuration -> Authorization Configuration
3) Select DinersClub -> Click Edit
4) Change the two fields as described in the following
screenshot:

This will exclude the cards starting with 36xxxx of length 14
from Diners Club range
5) Click OK
6) Select MasterCard -> Click Edit
7) Change the two fields as described in the following
screenshot:

This will add cards starting with 36xxxx of length 14 to
MasterCard range
8) Click OK
9) Exit Authorization Configuration and Restart
CreditLine Server for the changes to take effect.
